Ravenswood Preserve
Community Event
Experience the joy of visiting a Midpen preserve by bike! Take a ride with SVBC on two carefully chosen dates this Fall to see the difference between a regular tide and a King Tide. A King Tide is a natural phenomenon when the tides rise to their highest points of the year, showing us the future of rising sea levels.
Enjoy refreshments at a local business before pedaling about 30 minutes to get to Ravenswood Preserve. Along the way, meet other community partners, local businesses and nonprofit organizations dedicated to offering enriching programs and services to our communities.
Ride on October 19th to enjoy a regular, normal day at Ravenswood Preserve. A month later, return to the same place to see the incredible difference in the depth of the water in the wetlands.
These rides are free, and designed to be supportive and comfortable for beginners and families who may be newer to riding bikes on the road. Our trained ride support staff are here to help everyone have a great time!
The ride experience:
- No one left behind
- Frequent stops to rest and regroup
- Plenty of snacks
- Bike safety and helmet checks before we leave
Please bring with you:
- A working bicycle
- A helmet
- A water bottle
- Clothing fit for the weather
- Flat repair if you have it
We'll see you in the bike lane!
