Gratitude Hike
December 8, 2024
9:30 am - 12:00 pm
El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve

Join Midpen partner, Latino Outdoors, for a gratitude hike around El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve on Sunday, December 8 from 9:30am until 12:00pm.

The group will walk a 2.91 miles loop with 382 ft elevation gain. The trail is mostly narrow.

Visitors will find creekside trails through mixed evergreen and redwood forests, enjoy ocean views, admire rare sandstone formations and experience a sense of remoteness. We will stop by the oldest and largest living tree in the Santa Cruz Mountains (outside the trees in Big Basin).

Please bring water, comfortable shoes, wear layers, and sun protection. We will conclude our outing with a gratitude circle and eating some yummy tamales.

Sign up on Eventbrite.

Where to Meet

The Lower Windy Hill Parking Area at the lower portion of the preserve is located on Portola Road. Please note: This parking lot fills quickly. Please do not park on Portola Road: parking is strictly enforced.
