The Mount Umunhum Summit Project restored one of the highest peaks in the Santa Cruz mountains to a more natural state and included the demolition of former Almaden Air Force Station buildings, removal of hazardous waste and the restoration of natural landforms and native habitats.
The Mindego Gateway Project is a partnership between the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District and Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) to expand and enhance access and recreation activities at the spectacular Mindego Area.
The Saratoga to the Skyline Trail is a 9.7-mile trail uniting the City of Saratoga's Quarry Park with Santa Clara County's Sanborn County Park. Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District supported the project by helping the city purchase the 64-acre property that would become Quarry Park in 2011, providing technical support on the regional trail project, and committing funding towards engineering design, environmental review and construction.
