Winter Rambling at Rancho

Rancho San Antonio Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
5.5

Enjoy exploring the trails on this "Lucky Seven" route with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Marie Faust Evitt, and Bobbie Riedel. This moderately-paced, exercise-focused hike will take you along the Lower Meadow and Rogue Valley trails to traverse beneath the oak and bay canopies, up the Wildcat Loop Trail (a less than 600-foot climb along the “Seven Switchbacks”) to enjoy a view of the bay, and down the shady Wildcat Loop and Coyote trails to return to the parking area.

Where to Meet

Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6
