Winter Birding at the Bay

January 11, 2025
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Stevens Creek Shoreline Nature Area
Approximate Total Miles
2.5

Our acclaimed baylands attract an unusually large number of bird species at this time of year. Join Docent Naturalists Marilyn and Bill Bauriedel and Alison Thompson on a leisurely-paced walk to look for a variety of land birds, waterfowl, and shorebirds. You’ll learn identification tips such as shape, size, sound, plumage, habitat, behavior, and migration while being treated to up close views using a spotting scope. All levels of birding experience and children over six years-old welcome. Bring your binoculars if you have a pair.

Where to Meet

Meet in the “Kite Area” parking lot at Shoreline-at-Mountain View Park. From Highway 101, take Shoreline Boulevard east to the Shoreline Park entrance.  After passing the entrance kiosk, turn right into the parking lot.
