Try Your Hand at Nature Journaling

Saturday, April 5, 2025
1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Windy Hill Preserve
Approximate Total Miles

Nature journaling combines observing and documenting the natural world through writing, sketching, and even painting. Join Docent Naturalists Ann Reisenauer, Veronica Chouinard, and Noa Doitel for a short, 0.1 mile walk to Sausal Pond where you’ll do some warm-up activities to get you in the journaling mood. After settling into the space, you’ll have the opportunity to write a poem, draw a wildflower, or create a painting. Bring something to sit on and your supplies (pen and journal, drawing pencils, paints, etc.) and spend a couple hours observing and enjoying nature.

Where to Meet

The Lower Windy Hill Parking Area at the lower portion of the preserve is located on Portola Road. Please note: This parking lot fills quickly. Please do not park on Portola Road: parking is strictly enforced.
