El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
5.25

Trail Treks, scheduled on the fourth Thursday, provide exercise-focused hikes and opportunities to discover Midpen's beautiful preserves.

Enjoy the energy of the giant redwoods, meander along magnificent manzanitas, and catch a glimpse of early wildflowers on this moderately-paced hike with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Bobbie Riedel, and Nick Yatsko. You’ll climb approximately 1,000 feet along the Oljon, Steam Donkey, Gordon Mill, and Crosscut trail to the Manzanita and the Fir trails (with a possibility for a one-mile extension for a view). You’ll stop to visit the ancient Methuselah Tree before returning to the main parking area. Bring a snack for a stop along the trail.

Where to Meet

Meet at the El Corte de Madera Parking Area located on the west side of Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard), about 1- mile south of the Caltrans Skeggs Point parking area and 2.7 miles north of the intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 84.
