Trail Treks, scheduled on the fourth Thursday, provide exercise-focused hikes and opportunities to discover Midpen's beautiful preserves.

Join Docent Naturalists Bobbie Riedel, Nancy Weintraub, and Nick Yatsko for a moderately-paced trek along the Los Gatos Creek and Flume trails to reach the northern entrance to the preserve. You’ll climb the Novitiate and Manzanita trails up to the eponymous hill and highest point where you’ll enjoy 360-degree views. Bring a snack for a brief stop before returning through Los Gatos Novitiate Park.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Little League Field parking lot on Miles Ave. Take Highway 17 south toward Los Gatos. Exit at Highway 9-Los Gatos/Saratoga and continue west on Hwy. 9 (approximately 0.33 miles) to University Avenue. Turn left on University Ave. toward downtown Los Gatos. Turn left on Miles Avenue and proceed two blocks to the parking lot on the left for the Little League field.
