Learn all about tadpoles with Docent Naturalists Roberta and Jaime Cavazos and Alison Thompson on this family-friendly and leisurely-paced walk along the Zinfandel Trail to Picchetti Ranch Pond, a seasonal wetland that provides habitat for sensitive wildlife. Discover what these amazing little aquatic creatures can do at this stage after hatching from an egg but before becoming froglets. How does this change happen, and why? Bring a light snack to enjoy while you observe our amphibian friends.

Where to Meet

Meet at the preserve parking lot on Montebello Road. From the intersection of I-280 and Foothill Expressway, go 3.5 miles southwest (toward the mountains) on Foothill Boulevard/Stevens Canyon Road.  Turn right on Montebello Rd.  The preserve is 0.5 miles up Montebello Rd. on the left.
