Skyline Ridge Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
7.5

Hike a scenic loop encompassing four different preserves with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Laura Knott-Thomas, Emma Dohner, and Sabra Abraham. On this moderately-paced trek along the Bay Area Ridge Trail, you’ll visit Skyline Ridge, Monte Bello, Coal Creek, and Russian Ridge preserves. You’ll experience breathtaking views, glorious fungi and flora, and diverse landscapes while learning how these lands have been tended for thousands of years by the Ohlone people, why the land is protected today, and how we all play a part in protecting the planet. Bring a snack. (Note: This hike is for those comfortable with "long distance hiking": 7.5 miles/1,250 feet at 2.5 miles per hour.)

Where to Meet

Meet at the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard located one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. After entering the preserve, turn right and go to the farthest parking area. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 45 minutes travel time.
