Skyline Ridge Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
7.5

Hike a scenic loop traversing four different preserves with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Laura Knott-Thomas, Ann McCarty, and Ben Jackson. You'll enjoy a moderately-paced trek along the Bay Area Ridge Trail through Skyline Ridge, Monte Bello, Coal Creek, and Russian Ridge preserves. You’ll experience breathtaking views and diverse landscapes, learn how these lands have been tended since ancestral times by the Ohlone people, and understand why the land is protected today. This hike is for those comfortable with "long distance hiking" (7.5 miles/1,250 feet) and able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. Bring a snack or lunch.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard located one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. After entering the preserve, turn right and go to the farthest parking area. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 45 minutes travel time.
