Join Docent Naturalists An Scharlaken, Steve Crawford, Roger Wigenstam, and Jianfei Hu for an exhilarating and aerobic mountain bike ride through towering redwoods and a rugged landscape. This adventure is designed for experienced mountain bikers looking to explore the region's dynamic trails while learning about the history and ecology of the area, including the legacy of logging. You’ll start on the Oljon and Blue Blossom trails, then climb Crossover, Timberview, Methuselah, and Fir before the final descent on the Sierra Morena Trail. This is a technical ride; participants must be experienced and able to ride steep, narrow, and at times rough single-track trails with an elevation gain of 1,600+ feet. Minimum age 16. Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after January 4 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close January 17 at 2:00 p.m.

Where to Meet

Meet at the El Corte de Madera Parking Area located on the west side of Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard), about 1- mile south of the Caltrans Skeggs Point parking area and 2.7 miles north of the intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 84.
