Experience the power and scale of nature with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Laura Knott-Thomas, Anouchka Gaillard, and Peter Maxwell on a moderately-paced loop trek along the Bay Area Ridge, Peters Creek, and Long Ridge trails. While hiking amid shady mixed evergreen woodlands, steep canyons, and grassy ridges, you’ll learn how these lands have been tended by the Ohlone people and how they are protected for future generations. Enjoy the ridge peak and views westward across thousands of acres of forested land at the Wallace Stegner Memorial Bench during a snack stop. Bring a notepad and pen as you’ll have an opportunity to jot down your impressions of Ah and awe from the ridge, with the option to share with the group.
