Nature at Night

October 26, 2024
4:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Monte Bello Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
4

When the sun sets, not all of nature goes to sleep; in fact, many animals are just waking up. Join Docent Naturalists Paul Billig and Laura Knott-Thomas to witness the changes that occur along the Stevens Creek Nature Trail as day transitions into night. You’ll stop to enjoy your dinner along the Canyon Trail as darkness descends. On your return hike you'll learn techniques to best observe the sights and sounds of nocturnal nature. Bring a pad or plastic to sit on and a flashlight (red filters for your flashlight will be provided if needed). Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after October 12 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close October 25 at 2:00 p.m.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Monte Bello Parking Area on Page Mill Road (across from Los Trancos Preserve), 7 miles west of I-280 or 1.5 miles east of Skyline Boulevard. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 35 minutes travel time.

To ensure your experience on a docent naturalist outing is enjoyable please review these activity guidelines.
