Prepare for the holiday with a refreshing, leisurely-paced morning stroll guided by Docent Naturalists Laura Levin, Emma Finter, and Marie-Anne Neimat through meadow and creekside habitats to visit historic Deer Hollow Farm. You’ll learn about the many business ventures of the homesteading Grant family during nearly eight decades on the site. Following the Permanente Creek and Lower Meadow trails, you’ll pause to observe interesting flora and fauna. Wild turkeys may even make a pre-Thanksgiving appearance. Arrive early to allow extra time for parking.
Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6.
