9:00 am - 11:00 am
Ravenswood Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
2.5

Have your binoculars ready to scan the wetlands and mudflats of San Francisco Bay at low tide. Docent Naturalists Laura Levin, Emma Finter, Marie-Anne Neimat, and Kate Bauer will guide you in identifying the resident and migratory waterfowl and shorebirds you observe on this leisurely-paced, out-and-back walk along the Bay Trail. You'll also learn about salt marsh habitat and the human history of nearby Cooley Landing.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Ravenswood Parking Area. From Highway 101, exit on University Avenue. Follow University Ave. north (about four long blocks) to Bay Road.  Turn right on Bay Rd. and follow it to the very end (about 1.2 miles).  The preserve entrance and parking lot are marked with large signs.
