Hike a scenic loop with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Laura Knott Thomas, Sabra Abraham, and Nick Yatsko on a moderately-paced trek along the Bay Area Ridge Trail through Skyline Ridge, Monte Bello, and Russian Ridge preserves, as well as on the Measure AA-improved Alpine Road of Coal Creek. You’ll experience breathtaking views, glorious wildflowers, and diverse landscapes while learning how these lands have been tended for thousands of years by the Ohlone people, preserved by Midpen and other organizations, and more recently enhanced by Measure AA improvements. Bring a snack or lunch. (Note: This hike is for those comfortable with "long distance hiking" (7.5 miles/1,250 feet) and able to walk 2.5 miles per hour.)
Meet at the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard located one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. After entering the preserve, turn right and go to the farthest parking area. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 45 minutes travel time.
