Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Measure AA by taking a hike on the Measure AA-funded Mount Umunhum Trail with Docent Naturalists Kate Bauer, Mary Brunkhorst, and Nick Yatsko. Learn how Mount Umunhum acts as a “sky island” for plants and animals and discover how both elevation and location influence what can live on this beautiful mountain peak. You’ll start this moderately-paced hike by exploring the summit before heading down the Mt Umunhum Trail to enjoy a lunch break on a Measure AA-funded bridge near the remnants of an historic cabin. Then burn off some lunch calories as you hike back to the starting point to finish the outing with an approximately 700-foot elevation gain. Conclude your celebratory visit by driving safely down the Measure AA-funded Mount Umunhum Road.
