Micro-observers young and old are invited to attend this leisurely-paced stroll around Picchetti Pond with Docent Naturalists Frances Reneau and Nina Bell to investigate the multitude of mini-organisms hiding around its edge. The focus is on exploration and questioning, not identification. If you have a 10X loupe, please bring it, though a few will be provided. Children aged six and above are welcome.
Meet at the preserve parking lot on Montebello Road. From the intersection of I-280 and Foothill Expressway, go 3.5 miles southwest (toward the mountains) on Foothill Boulevard/Stevens Canyon Road. Turn right on Montebello Rd. The preserve is 0.5 miles up Montebello Rd. on the left.
