Come experience miles of open space on the day after the longest day of the year on this moderately-paced, meandering hike to celebrate these first official hours of summer. Bring your stamina, curiosity, and questions: Though the route is planned, it’s a “choose your own adventure” type of day. Interpretive Specialist Katie Renz and Docent Naturalists Catherine Crawford-Swent and Joyce Tang want to hear what you’ve been wondering about regarding natural history, the trails, or Midpen’s preserves. What do you observe while walking that we can investigate together? The route includes the Peters Creek and Long Ridge trails, with the option of being extended if energy and interest allow. You’ll stop for lunch and the view on the Hickory Oaks Trail. We can’t promise to have all the answers, but who knows what fascinating things we’ll discover?
