What does it take to live in the marsh? Meander along the boardwalk with Docent Naturalists Bobbie Riedel and Melissa Hero and discover the plants and animals that make it their home. You'll observe the rich mosaic of salt marsh habitat, learn about plant adaptations, and look for shorebirds along the way. This leisurely-paced walk along the Bay Trail will leave you with a new appreciation for the lure of life among the wetlands.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Ravenswood Parking Area. From Highway 101, exit on University Avenue. Follow University Ave. north (about four long blocks) to Bay Road.  Turn right on Bay Rd. and follow it to the very end (about 1.2 miles).  The preserve entrance and parking lot are marked with large signs.
