Get Crepuscular! Hike at Dusk

Saturday, June 14, 2025
5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Skyline Ridge Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
1.5

Embrace the evening hours with Docent Naturalists Roberta and Jaime Cavazos, Melissa Hero, Paul Billig, and Annete Herz on a family-friendly discovery hike in search of crepuscular animals—species who prefer being out at dusk (or dawn) rather than day or night. You’ll hike along the Horseshoe Lake Trail and stop by the water to sit and observe who might be out at this transitioning time. Bats? Rabbits? Deer? Bring a light snack and something to sit on while we observe the natural world during this special part of the day.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard located one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. After entering the preserve, turn right and go to the farthest parking area. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 45 minutes travel time.

To ensure your experience on a docent naturalist outing is enjoyable please review these activity guidelines.
