Approximate Total Miles

Join Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Rae Collins, and Peter Maxwell on a scenic hike traversing four preserves. Starting at Skyline Ridge Preserve, you'll enjoy a moderately-paced loop hike along the Bay Area Ridge Trail through Russian Ridge, Coal Creek and Monte Bello preserves. On the path you’ll experience breathtaking views and diverse landscapes including shady mixed evergreen forests, canyons, and grassy ridges. You’ll learn how Ohlone people are the original stewards of these lands. This hike is for individuals who are comfortable with "long distance hiking" and able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and climb 1,250 feet.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard located one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. After entering the preserve, turn right and go to the farthest parking area. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 45 minutes travel time.
