It's time again to search for wild turkeys that will NOT be a feature of your Thanksgiving dinner. On a leisurely stroll along the Lower Meadow Trail, you'll use your eyes and ears to help docents Mary Brunkhorst, Dennis Smith, and Laura Levin locate these ancestors of less fortunate grocery store birds. Past Turkey Trots have found from zero to dozens of turkeys, along with other natural wonders along the way. Note: Arrive early and allow extra time to find parking. Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after November 3 and will close on November 16 at 2:00 p.m.
Note: Regardless of vaccination status, all activity participants will be required to wear a mask when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Please review the additional COVID-19 safety protocols provided when you register for an activity.
Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6.
