Get to know your resident and visiting feathered friends during this leisurely-paced, level stroll on the western edge of the San Francisco Bay with Docent Naturalists Kate Bauer, Mary Brunkhorst, and Nick Yatsko. You’ll greet migratory birds as they return via the Pacific Flyway from their northern breeding grounds and learn why this preserve is important to so many species of birds. Bring your lunch, binoculars, any guidebooks you have and, most importantly, your desire to learn about birds.
Meet at the Ravenswood Parking Area. From Highway 101, exit on University Avenue. Follow University Ave. north (about four long blocks) to Bay Road. Turn right on Bay Rd. and follow it to the very end (about 1.2 miles). The preserve entrance and parking lot are marked with large signs.
