Explorer Hike: Annual Turkey Trot

November 20, 2024
10:30 am - 2:30 pm
Rancho San Antonio Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
4

It's that time of the year again to search for wild turkeys! Join Docent Naturalists Mary Brunkhorst, Kate Bauer, Dennis Smith, and Nick Yatsko in getting a head start working off those holiday calories on this leisurely-paced hike along the Lower Meadow, Rogue Valley, and Chamise trails with minor elevation change. You'll stop for lunch along the way. (Note: This is our most popular preserve. Arrive early and allow extra time to find parking.)

Where to Meet

Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6
