Join Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Bobbie Riedel, and Nick Yatsko on a moderately-paced hike at a seldomly-visited area of this preserve. Following the Cielo and Coho Vista Loop trails, you’ll take in picturesque views, stroll by a recently restored, 165-year-old barn, and visit and an old-growth redwood. In observation of Earth Week and Arbor Day, you’ll learn about carbon sequestration, hear about Midpen’s wildfire resiliency programs, and discuss humans’ role in reducing the effects of climate change. Bring a snack for a short break. Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after April 11 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close April 24 at 2:00 p.m.
Meet at the Allen Road Permit Parking Area. From I-280, take CA-84 west for 6.8 miles. Turn right on CA-35/Skyline Boulevard and travel 2.3 miles. Turn left onto Bear Gulch Road. After 0.6 miles, turn left onto Allen Road for one mile. Continue onto Kebet Ridge Road for 0.3 miles. The preserve will be on your right. Note: Vehicle access requires a parking permit, which the docent will have. There is no parking available outside of the preserve gate on Allen Road.
