Approximate Total Miles
2.5

What birds can you find in this unique intertidal ecosystem? Meander along the boardwalk with Docent Naturalists Bobbie Riedel and Melissa Hero in search of waterfowl and raptors while learning about the Pacific Flyway and spring migration. You'll discover the rich mosaic of salt marsh habitat, observe the effect of a receding tide, and look for shorebirds along the way. This leisurely-paced walk along the Bay Trail will leave you with a new appreciation for the lure of life among the wetlands.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Ravenswood Parking Area. From Highway 101, exit on University Avenue. Follow University Ave. north (about four long blocks) to Bay Road.  Turn right on Bay Rd. and follow it to the very end (about 1.2 miles).  The preserve entrance and parking lot are marked with large signs.
