Join Docent Naturalists Susan Bernhard, Noa Doitel, and Sabra Abraham for a moderately-paced hike with frequent stops along the Peters Creek and Long Ridge Trails. You may hear wild turkeys foraging for acorns as you hike along the creek. Deciduous oaks and bays will be dressed in fall colors. You’ll learn the interesting history of this preserve and stop midway for a snack and a few readings at the Wallace Stegner Bench. Often hawks or turkey vultures are seen soaring over the valley. As you hike along the ridge, you’ll take in views of the Santa Cruz Mountains and catch the scent of the Pacific Ocean (fog permitting).
