Another Grassy Knoll

Join Docent Naturalists Frances Reneau and Helena Cohen on a quest to master the grasses in Hawthorns Area, a 79-acres limited access section that is not continuous with the rest of Windy Hill Preserve. This portion of the preserve is largely open grassland and oak woodland with a grassy understory. You'll check out the variety of grasses, native and non-native, perennial and annual, and discuss their survival strategies. Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after September 23 at 12:00 (Noon) and close October 6 at 2:00 p.m.
