Join docent naturalists Frances Reneau, Helena Cohen, and Marie Faust Evitt for the 5th hike of the "All Preserves" series celebrating Midpen's 50th anniversary. Sitting just south of Mountain View's Shoreline Park, this tiny piece of protected San Francisco baylands provides habitat for many types of birds including waterfowl, shorebirds, wading birds, and raptors. The endangered Ridgway's rail is one of area's special bird representatives. This leisurely-paced birding walk is routed primarily through Shoreline Park, with views into the nature study area. Bring your binoculars if you have them. Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after February 18 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close March 3 at 2:00 p.m.
Meet in the “Kite Area” parking lot at Shoreline-at-Mountain View Park. From Highway 101, take Shoreline Boulevard east to the Shoreline Park entrance. After passing the entrance kiosk, turn right into the parking lot.
