For the 1st hike in the series, join docent naturalists Frances Reneau, Helena Cohen, and Sabra Abraham for a moderately-paced hike to visit Mt. Umunhum which is Midpen's highest elevation at 3,400 feet and located in its largest preserve - a fitting place to start the Midpen "All Preserves" 50th anniversary series. The mountaintop has been a sacred site for indigenous people for thousands of years, and served as an Air Force Station in the last century. Unusual plants and animals add to this preserve's compelling natural and cultural history. Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after December 31 and close January 13 at 2:00 p.m.
