Do birds like great blue herons, Canada geese and mallard ducks frame the scope of your current bird identification ability? Join docents Frances Reneau, Helena Cohen, and Lyle Rice to add a few more common water birds to your birding repertoire – bring your curiosity, observation skills, binoculars (if you have some), and your dusty copy of Sibley’s or another field guide. The wide, flat Ravenswood Trail serves as a moving observation platform for a morning of discovery.

Where to Meet:

Meet at the Preserve parking lot.  From Highway 101, exit on University Avenue. Follow University Ave. north (about four long blocks) to Bay Road.  Turn right on Bay Rd. and follow it to the very end (about 1.2 miles).  The Preserve entrance and parking lot are marked with large signs.
