Meet the Staff
Headed by the General Manager, the staff includes 79 permanent, and a dozen seasonal employees. The District has two field offices, one located at Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve and one on Skyline Blvd at Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve
The approximately 20 permanent staff at each field office provide patrol, maintenance, and visitor services. Rangers are primarily responsible for the day-to-day patrol and visitor contact on the District's preserves. All Rangers have law enforcement capability and are trained in fire suppression, defensive tactics, and emergency medical response. The field staff includes permanent and seasonal Open Space Technicians and Equipment Mechanic-Operators, all of whom are responsible for building and maintaining the system of the trails, and for performing resource management activities within the preserves. Many of these staff are also trained in fire suppression and emergency medical response. The District administrative staff members are located at the administrative office on Distel Circle, off El Camino Real in Los Altos and include professionals in open space planning, resource management, real property, public affairs (including volunteer and docent programs), and environmental analysis. The human resources and accounting staff also work at the administrative office. |
